<About Me>

          I was born in Carrollton, Georgia but raised in Graham, Alabama. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was a very young girl.
          I received my paraprofessional certificate and my Associate’s degree at Dekalb Community College in Decatur Georgia. I received my Bachelor’s, Master’s and Specialist degree with an ESOL and Reading Endorsement from Mercer University. I began my teaching career with my Aunt’s daycare as the infant teacher, then as a paraprofessional for about 5+ years in Dekalb County School System, and 12+ years in a Georgia Lottery Funded Pre-K. I decided to move up to Kindergarten and taught in Fulton County for 3 years. I wanted to be closer to home so I applied to Douglas County Schools and am now a NDES Stingray.

          I am blessed to have a wonderful husband, Duane, of 19 years. I have 3 beautiful girls India, Delanie, and Sara. I am the grandmother of 2 sweet little girls Peyton and Serenity. I have a, Jack Russell Terrier, dog named Tatum.

          Teaching is an absolute passion for me. When students leave me for first grade I hope to send them ready with more than the basics but a fundamental understanding with a strong foundation.
