Our classroom learning environment promotes fun, growth, and a sense of family. I was inspired by grandmother and two very special 3rd grade teachers; Mrs. Brailford and Mrs. Rolle to pursue teaching and implements the same welcoming atmosphere in her classroom.

I have 19 years of teaching experience, and through this experience I have served on local school community boards, participated in PTA memberships, presented Parent Universities to parents, served as professional development mentor, presented workshops to teachers, and most importantly taken an active role in the community.

My teaching philosophy is very simple, students do not care how much you know, until they know how much you care. Caring is what they need first, after they know I care then they open up their heart and mind and I can teach them. I demonstrate this by establishing positive relationships with my students and helping them build on their dreams.
My teachers believed and also encouraged me to pursue my dreams. I’m just paying forward what was given to me.

In my spare time, I enjoy antique shopping, traveling, reading, cooking, going to the movies, singing in the church choir, and spending time with my family.

Faith is the first factor in a life devoted to service. Without it, nothing is possible. With it, nothing is impossible. -Mary McLeod Bethune
