Parent and Family Engagement Opportunities


North Douglas Elementary will host the following events to build the capacity for strong family involvement to support a partnership among the school, parents, and the community to improve student academic achievement. These events will be publicized via flyers, school website, and signage. Dates and times are subject to change.  

Title I Experience (5:30) and Curriculum Night____ August 23, 2018 at 6:00pm

 Title I Orientation- During this meeting, parents are informed about the school’s Title I program and their rights to be involved. Parents will get a deeper understanding of Title I.

Curriculum Night -Teachers will provide an overview of the curriculum for your child’s grade level. There will be information that will give to parents on how to assist at home.

Title I Orientation__________________________ August. 23, 2018 at 8:30am

Title I Orientation- During this meeting parent will informed about the school’s Title I program and their rights to be involved. Parents will get a deeper understanding of Title I.

Assessment and Data ______________________ October 11, 2018 at 6:00pm
Families are invited to an informed about DRA. STAR 360, Write Score, Reading Inventory, DIBELS and GMAS.

Reading and Math- Ready, Set, GO!!! and Make and Take October 18, 2018 at 6:00pm-7:00pm

North Douglas families will come out experience our Reading and new Envision Math program.


Academic Conferences ______________________ Feb. 7, 2019 at 3:15-6:30pm

Parents are invited to conference with teachers about academics and a strategy plan for students to move forward. Families are invited to an informational session on GMAS. The families will continue with a spotlight on after school programs.


Parent Fireside Chats (Parent Meeting) ___________ March 2, 2019 at 6:00pm

Families will come to an informational session on how to move the school forward.

ART Night ______________________ March 21, 2019 at 5:00pm

This is an overview of the ART curriculum. Parents will be a part of hands on art, painting and sculpting.


Parent to Parent ______________________ May 7, 2019 at 6:00pm

Family forum to share ideas for our school.
