Snow Day

Hello North Douglas Families,

In case of inclement weather that causes our school to be closed, we have a specific plan in place so our students can still have a day of learning even if we are not together at school.  Our plan also allows for learning to occur even if we have no internet service. Student will receive packets on Tuesday, January 22 to take home and save for these learning days.  For all students these packets will include a Reader’s Response Journal for our One-school, One-book, The Lemonade War.   Our students in grades 3-5 will also have GMAS preparation work included in their packet, as the response journal should be easier for them to complete than our K-2 students.  After the call is made from Superintendent North and his advisory council that our schools will be out for the day, please await a calling post from Principal Kelly. In this calling post Principal Kelly will detail which chapters they will need to complete in their response journal, as well as which pages our older students will need to complete in their GMAS packets. Students will also be expected to read from a book of their choosing, whether it be the book they receive on January 22nd from the Literacy Grant or their library book.  If you have any questions on these learning days, our teachers will be available through class dojo from 9am-2pm.  The journals and packets will need to be returned to North Douglas within three days after the inclement weather days are completed. Thank you for supporting your students and encouraging learning at home!
