Parent and Family Engagement Opportunities

North Douglas Elementary will host the following events to build the relationship for strong family involvement to support a partnership among the school, parents, and the community to improve student academic achievement. These events will be publicized via flyers, school website, and signage.  Dates and times are subject to change.

NDES Annual Title I Meeting: The Title I Experience     September 10, 2020 (8:00 a.m. & 5:30 pm) 

 

  • Title I Orientation - During this meeting, parents are informed about the school’s Title I program and their rights to be involved. Parents will get a deeper understanding of Title I and all of the benefits it has to offer.

  • Parent Advisory Committee Meeting
  • Curriculum Night -Teachers will provide an overview of the curriculum for your child’s grade level.  Information will be given to parents on how to better assist the scholars at home.  
  • We will also spotlight the ASP program as another tool to help our attending families create a safe environment for their scholars and working families.

     

  • Families are invited to informed sessions regarding DRA, STAR 360, Write Score, Reading Inventory, DIBELS and GMAS.
  • North Douglas families will come out & experience our Reading and Envision Math Programs.

  • Parents & scholars will discuss highlights of Black Historical leaders and their impact on our current society. We will also spotlight the ASP program as another tool to help our attending families create a safe environment for their scholars and working families.

 

 

Data Talk                                                                                             March  4, 2021  @ 6:00pm

 

  •  Families will come to an informational session on how to move the school forward with active community & parent involvement.  

 

ART Night                                                                                           March 25, 2021 @ 5:00pm

 

  • This is an overview of the ART curriculum.  Parents will be active participants with hands-on art, painting and sculpting.
