**Parents!!! Requesting input to next year's plans** 

North Douglas Elementary is in the process of reviewing and revising the school's Parent and Family Engagement Plan. This plan outlines how the school will implement programs, activities, and procedures for the involvement of parents and families in Title I programs. The plan will establish the school’s expectations for parent and family engagement and how the school will carry out federal and state parent and family engagement requirements. North Douglas Elementary will host the following events to build the capacity for strong family involvement to support a partnership among the school, parents, and the community to improve student academic achievement. These events will be publicized via flyers, school website, and signage. Dates and times are subject to change.  

Title I Orientation ____ August 15, 2019 at 8:00 am and 6:00pm
Title I Orientation- During this meeting, parents are informed about the school’s Title I program and their rights to be involved. Parents will get a deeper understanding of Title I.

Parent University ____ September 15, 2019 at 6:30pm
Guest Speaker Dr. Martin Rodgers will share communication and homework tips.

Curriculum Night ____ September 12, 2019 at 6:00pm
Curriculum Night -Teachers will provide an overview of the curriculum for your child’s grade level. There will be information that will give to parents on how to assist at home.

Instructional/Homework Help/ Assessment and Data ____October 03, 2019 at 5:15pm
Families are invited to an informed about DRA. STAR 360, Write Score, Reading Inventory, DIBELS and GMAS.

Academic Conferences ___October 10, 2019 at 3:15-6:30pm
Parents are invited to conference with teachers about academics and a strategy plan for students to move forward. Families are invited to an informational session on GMAS. The families will continue with a spotlight on after school programs.

Math Make and Take Night___November 14, 2019 at 6:00pm
Families are invited to experience math fun with their children. Everyone receives a fun math game to take home!

Reading Night - One Book One School___December 19, 2019 at 6:00pm
Reading - Ready, Set, GO!!! Everyone receives a free book!  

STEM Day___January 30, 2020 
Parents are invited to experience activities planned throughout the day with your students and their classes.

STEM Night___January 30, 2020 at 6:00pm
The Science Man will be here to share some exciting science demonstrations. You don't want to miss it! 

ART Night ____April 16, 2020 at 5:00pm
This is an overview of the ART curriculum. Parents will be a part of hands on art, painting and sculpting.
