We're excited to bring Book Blast to our school on September 9, 2026 at 7:50 AM EDT. Our school is partnering with Books Are Fun and the Book Blast program. This program helps every student build their own home library and get excited about reading by getting brand-new, age-appropriate books into every student's hands.

What makes it different:

Every student receives books they'll love and want to read
100% of all contributions go directly to books
The book list is expertly curated for each grade level
How it Works:

Your student will bring home a Treasure Map. This is their way to participate, earn books, and unlock fun prizes along the way.

Help us make mornings flow more smoothly! A new security sensor was installed at our school last spring. Some school supplies are giving false alarms and are causing delays in getting our students in the building. If at all possible, please do not send students to school with these items, unless required by parent or teacher.

If your student has a binder, metal pencil box, thermos, umbrella, metal eyeglass case, or air pods, please remind them to take them out of bags BEFORE walking through the sensor. Then don't forget your items. We've already created a lost and found pile!

DCSS Schools Closed Tuesday: Due to the State of Emergency declared for Winter Weather, the Douglas County School System will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21, 2025. WEATHER UPDATE: The Douglas County School System has been closely monitoring Hurricane Helene and the potential for heavy rain and strong winds in our area tomorrow in collaboration with the National Weather Service. According to the National Hurricane Center and our local emergency management agency, inclement weather will begin impacting our area on Thursday evening. At this time, schools will operate on a normal schedule on Thursday, September 26, 2024. However, all after-school activities and programs on that day will be canceled. In addition, all classes, after school events and activities will be canceled for Friday, September 27. Our top priority is to always maintain the safety of our students and staff. Therefore, we will keep a vigilant eye on weather conditions throughout the evening. If there are any further changes, we will promptly inform our school community. We will communicate this important information through email, text, and social media platforms. It will also be shared on social media and in collaboration with our media partners. We appreciate your understanding as we continue our focus on the safety and well-being of our school community.
